Recovery Progress
Our latest monitoring data provides a transparent view of conservation success across Suffolk’s river valleys. By integrating real-time species surveys with hydrological mapping, we demonstrate the tangible results of coordinated landscape management. This page features our most recent success stories, ranging from improved fledgling rates to innovative habitat restoration projects. Explore our technical reports and field updates to see how evidence led advocacy and landowner partnerships are successfully securing a resilient future for our priority wader populations.

10 Year Anniversary
For ten years, our partnership has transformed Suffolk’s coastline. By uniting landowners and conservationists, we have influenced thousands of hectares, proving that collaborative, science led action can successfully reverse wader decline.

2025 Results
While 2025 population levels remained stable across our network, breeding success faced significant pressure. From March onwards Suffolk endured its driest start to the season since 1929, with just 4.7mm of rain.

Project Delivery
Through Defra’s Farming in Protected Landscapes programme, our partnership delivered 9km of new wetland features. Working with the National Landscapes team and a specialist spoil spreader, we created shallow footdrains.
